4/9 & 4/15 The Art of Screenprint Exhibit. Screenprinting is a stencil method of printmaking in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, and ink forced through the mesh onto the printing surface forming an image. In this exhibit, we'll see quite a range of beautiful screen prints and learn more about this printmaking process.

5/28 & 6/17 We'll take a look at the exhibition "African American Art" from the Walter O. Evans Collection. This exhibition is presented by the General Motors Center for African American Art. The GM center was established in 2000 as one of the first curatorial departments within a major art museum dedicated solely to African American art. We'll be joined by our guests Walter O. Evans (the collector himself) and Valerie Mercer, the DIA's curator of African American Art. The Walter O. Evans Collection is rather large and only a portion is presented here in this exhibit, which is laid out with a series of galleries exploring the themes of: 19th Century Development, the Harlem Renaissance, Everyday Life, Ritual and Spirituality, Abstraction, and Music.IN THE FRAME #203
7/23 & 7/29 Volunteers. The DIA's volunteer staff has been an essential part of the museum for 45 years. The volunteer committee is a group of more than 600 individuals who donate their time to provide a great experience for museum visitors, and to extend the DIA's prsence within the community. Meet some of these dedicated volunteers and learn the roles they play in keeping the DIA operating smoothly.
