I Have a Fairy Garden?
It was the middle of a really nice summer and my garden was growing really well. My watermelons were getting huge, my pumpkins were just starting out, the beans were really tall, and the tomatoes had more tomatoes than ever before. Even more than my Mom and Dad's! ALL of my plants were doing great. My flowers looked pretty too.
But, my plants were not the only things growing big. I tried weeding the best I could, but this one gigantic weed wouldn't go away! I would pull it one day and the next morning it would be back, sometimes even bigger than the day before!
So one day I took my Dad's real big shovel and dug down as far as I could around the gigantic weed. It took a long time! I dug and dug and dug. Then I pulled as hard as I could and after I fell, out came the weed, all of the root, and something else, But what was it?
A beautiful, tiny fairy flew out of the hole! She looked so tired, but happy. She looked at me and said, "Oh my, thank you so much. I have been trapped in the root of that giant weed for so long. I miss my family and my home and because of you, I can go back! Thank you. I will somehow repay you!" And she flew away before I could say anything or ask her any questions. For a minute I just stood there surprised.
After that day, the giant weed never came back. Actually no weeds came back. My plants were perfect and the fruits and vegetables were so yummy. I think the fairy looked after my garden to thank me for helping her.
I really hope one day I get to see that fairy again. I would like to ask her what her name is and if she wants to see my bedroom, and even if I could see where she lives. She seemed like a really special fairy! I'm so glad I helped her and she is still helping me.
