Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest The Snowball Effect
One day after a big snowfall, Jillian started rolling a snowball. She rolled until all the snow in her yard was gone. It was very big and getting hard to push.
She rolled it to Mary's house and asked her to help make the snowball bigger. Together they rolled it until all the snow in Mary's yard was gone.
They decided to roll it to the park where there was more snow and more kids to help. Ten kids helped because they wanted to see how big the snowball could get.
They rolled and rolled and the snowball got bigger and bigger until it was as big as a house! They pushed their hardest to keep the snowball rolling, but suddenly... IT STOPPED!!!!!
Everyone looked around to see why and saw Mary, who was pushing in front, had stopped and had a strange look on her face. AHHH- AHHH- AHHH-CHOOOOOOO!!!!!! The massive sneeze blew the snowball to bits!!!
At first, no one spoke. Then they laughed until they fell to the ground! They all had so much fun that they decided to do it again... that is... as long as Mary promised to cover her nose if she sneezed!
