No Compromise: Lessons in Feminist Art with Judy Chicago
Follow a group of women students as they venture into the studio with famed, and sometimes controversial, feminist artist and writer Judy Chicago. Chicago, who coined the terms 'feminist art' and 'feminist pedagogy,' was invited to teach at Indiana University after 25 years away from a classroom. Light-hearted and thought-provoking, No Compromise chronicles Chicago's work with aspiring women artists who struggle with the creative process, from conception to public presentation. The documentary explores the nature of artistic expression, the character of feminist art, and the personal commitment required in order to forge an independent artistic identity.
